Jinma 254LE Old Style Lift Box, Lift shaft bushing repair
This Jinma 200 series tractor came in for a 100 hour service. It had 175 hours on the meter. A leak was noticed coming down the side of the lift box on the left side. After disassembling it was determined that the set screw that holds the bushing in place had backed out or was never all the way down. I think the screw was never all the way down. When the bushing moved to the inside of the lift box it cause the lift shaft to drop down and ride on the seal. No other damage was noticed.
For owners with this type of lift box, you can take a flat blade screw driver and tighten, then back off 1/4 turn. The tip of the screw will touch the shaft if all the way screwed in.
Below are the new bushings and seals. Dowel pins were made to hold the gasket when setting the lift box back on.
